Grasswork
Grasswork is a collaborative project that began in December 2020 with fellow artist Tom Witherick. Together we are exploring an overlap in our respective practices on the use of soil and plant matter as material in painting and sculpture. Using collected and scavenged materials, we are creating a series of sculptures that explore human relationships to land. Materials are sourced from wilderness and pastoral spaces such as parks, woodland, motorway roadsides and farmlands. In July 2021 we had our first exhibition of our collaborative sculptures and hosted a drawing workshop.
